Dr. Maria del Pilar Rios Calvo graduated from Venezuela Central University in 1990. Specializing in Prosthodontics at Boston University in 1993, receiving later a Master’s Degree at Boston University in 1994 and a Ph.D. from Santa Maria University in 2017,Venezuela.

In addition to her private practice in Venezuela, she maintains active membership in several scientific societies and academies. Dr. Rios is the current Chairwoman of the Master of Science in Dental Implants Program and an associate professor at Santa Maria University. She serves as full-time faculty at Live Patient Dubai in the UAE. She is also a featured lecturer for the continuing education organization, Implants Seminars, in the United States. Dr. Rios proudly is the President of the International Dental Implant Association, IDIA’s, Venezuelan chapter – an organization in which she holds Diplomat status.

Her previous roles include Dean and Health Vice Chancellor Deputy at Santa Maria University in Venezuela, President of the Venezuelan Prosthetic Society, Secretary of the Venezuelan Occlusal Society, and Editor Reviewer of the United States Journal of Implant Dentistry.

Dr. Pilar has authored several articles published in scientific journals based on her research and practice of dentistry. Many of her past projects and research have been recognized and awarded. One of her greatest passions is her work as an international speaker and educator.

Dr. Jimmy Butt, a Lucan Dublin native, completed his dual degree in medicine and dentistry from Trinity College Dublin, a rare and esteemed accomplishment, signifying his relentless pursuit of academic and professional excellence.

Graduating magna cum laude with a first-class degree in restorative dentistry, Dr. Butt started his career at the respected Dublin Dental House Officer post. This position gave him a wide-ranging experience in all facets of dentistry - oral surgery, paedodontics, endodontics, and prosthodontics.

Dr. Butt's passion for oral maxillofacial surgery led him to St Richards Hospital in Chichester, UK, where he managed facial skin cancers, oral surgery lists including wisdom teeth, and facial fractures. His quest for deeper learning led him to pass the Royal College Surgeons Ireland membership exams and acquire the MFD RCSI.

Seeking further experience in complex oral cancer reconstructions, Dr. Butt moved to the Cardiff University Hospital in Wales, a national trauma and referral center. Here, he honed his skills in soft tissue biopsies, bone grafts, dental implant surgery, and management of facial fractures.

In addition to his clinical and academic responsibilities, Dr. Butt serves as an attending at Live Patient Dubai, where he shares his expertise in advanced implant surgery with an international community of professionals. His teaching extends to his role as a clinical supervisor at the Dublin Dental Hospital, overseeing extraction clinics with undergraduate students.
